Avoiding Mold Infestation After Water Damage in Cincinnati, Ohio

There was water damage to this home in Cincinnati, Ohio when the sump pump failed and water overflowed into the finished basement. The home owner quickly called SERVPRO of Northwest Cincinnati for mitigation services. Our water technicians responded rapidly to complete the water restoration process as soon as possible. After a water damage event, it is very important to dry the affected area quickly and completely in order to prevent further damage such as mold growth to the home. For the area shown in the photos, the technicians removed the non-salvageable carpeting and padding, cut out the damaged portions of the drywall and baseboards, thoroughly cleaned the floors, and set up drying equipment in the area. An anti-microbial agent was also applied to the surfaces. This agent helps to prevent mold growth after water damage like this one. Once complete, all debris was hauled away, the drying equipment was removed and the area was ready for the structural repairs.
